What is Google Wave?

Google Wave packs so much that it becomes impossible to define what exactly it is. I can say that it’s like a real-time chat room as a platform for editing documents simultaneously. Other use are can be used as a Wiki, replace emails and IM within an organization. Whatever it is, it seems to be pretty familiar due to the typical google type design parallel with it many also seem like something from another world for many non technical users, as it packs in so many services but still stays simple to use for most of the internet users. The Googler’s seems to be very excited about the launch.
Who will be invited?

• Google will send out around 100,000 invites.
• Current users on the sandbox server, Users who signed up for accounts at wave.google.com over the last few months (first-come, first-served), and a few select enterprise users on Google Apps accounts are likely to receive them.
• More invites will be sent later on when the team expands servers and capacity.
• Each and every user gets a specific number of invites with which they can invite friends to join wave.
• All the Wave accounts will be moved from the sandbox to the wave.google.com domain.
• Google Contacts will be integrated with Wave's contact management system.
• the Wave team will highlight robots and widgets from a select number of vendors
• The Internet Explorer users will be prompted to install and use Chrome Frame.

With all this publicity and popularity it seems the Wave may soon change to a tsunami.
